It’s too much to ask for and it’s too much to long for
An understanding to shroud and expand from within
You’ll say “you do this to keep yourself from getting better”
Well I wish I had that rehashed irony to spew
To long for a simple box to throw myself in just as you
I believe some people are better set for that type of living, that type of dying
I can’t say it in anyway different then the other times
I can’t paint the void; can’t keep falling out that endless exit
I can’t blame my father, I felt estranged even before his absence
Can’t blame any wars we wage even if it adds to the bother

Ignorance makes us walk in ant lines into death
Arrogance makes us believe we’re at no fault in anything
Madness lets us reason caging beauty; ensnaring peace
And confusion’s a scapegoat to bide time until ab&c get us

Self absorbed in my obsession for something bigger
Tilting too many of these scales knowing there’s not

You say “you believe in love, you say it all the time”
Yet those words break my heart ‘cause the world betrays us all the time

Let us scribble little notes saying “cling my brothers and sisters”
Loneliness driven far beyond an extent I can fathom
Some friends carry their best days in ecstasy spines
Some friends are breathing their best nights this week
But for the exposed the “best”; that monolith of a title
It’s too much to ask for, it’s too much to long for
